An #eqnz gift from ‘Feel at Home’

I’m not into handmade soaps and all but after meeting Leanne of ‘Feel at Home’ via Twitter and following her soap making adventures through her Facebook Page, I’m hooked.

Feel at Home Facebook Page

After hearing that Christchurch yet again was shaken by twin quakes on 13 June, she published a shout out on her FB page asking her Christchurch-based fans to email her their home addresses as she’d like to send a little something to make us feel better.

Day 312 – My Experience at KSSM Style Me Pretty 2010

I’m one of those who stumbled along life not knowing how to properly apply make-up or do her hair up herself.

MrG may think I’m high maintenance on other aspects of our lives but I have a simply ‘beauty’ regimen in the hair and make-up department. I happen to mention to my uber-fab friend, Hayley that I would like to go on a make-up tuition here in Christchurch and whatdyaknow, she was in the throes of organising a Style Me Pretty Event with Kristen Stewart School of Make-Up (KSSM) and I just had to go!

This is what I looked like after make-over session and boy, I felt gorgeous! ha ha but let me tell you how I achieved this look!

WE RECOMMEND: Plush Baby NZ

No, before you ask – we are not pregnant nor did we just adopt a baby. It doesn’t mean though that I don’t check out maternity and baby stores online for pressies for my friends and family who are expecting and those who have little bubs.

Plush Baby NZ

If you are pregnant, have a baby or you are looking for that perfect gift for someone, we definitely recommend you check out Plush Baby NZ.

Why do we recommend Plush Baby? Because we know the owner, Angela Day. Ange used to work for us before moving to Wellington and until now, we haven’t found the right person to replace this wee gem! That’s how great she was!

Check the rest of this post because at the bottom, I’ll let you know how you can win more than $10,000 worth of prizes! :-)

My Latest Project: All these brands claiming to be green, who knows what to believe?

But I’m a regular person. I’m a regular consumer. I don’t have the answers but I don’t want the answers from Greenies. I want to talk to other mothers like me who have the same concerns.

I actually get turned off by people who go to the extreme to save the planet. Those who badger us rather than encourage us to do the right thing by our environment.

Day 114 (24.04.10) – APO: The Music of my Childhood

APO Hiking Society‘s songs were not the only music I listened to as a child but they definitely shaped my taste in what I’d call “real” Filipino music.

APO Hiking Society concert, Auckland New Zealand

It was a shame though in APO’s 40 years in the industry, it took their final round of farewell concerts to get me off my as* so I can watch them live in concert before they disband and leave a hole in the Philippines’ music industry.

Day 111 (21.04.2010) – An Open Letter to Pacific Blue Airlines

Dear Pacific Blue Management (DJ61 crew chch-melb flight)

Motion sickness is an incovenient handicap that my selfish body discovered in my mid-30′s.

Oh and did I tell you that nausea and fainting joined that list too?

For someone who’s always prided herself of her ability to find solutions to difficulties (motion sickness? That’s what ginger tablets are for!), there are times when your body fails you and you just need to ask for help.
